I LOOOOVED this book! (Written in proper Milo fashion.) American Girl On Saturn by Nikki Godwin was fun, sweet, and very entertaining. Although, I seriously doubt anything like this could happen in real life. In my opinion, it was one of the most fun books I’ve read in 2013.
The main couple in this story is Chloe and Milo, but you see all the other characters lots as well. This isn’t an insta-love story, in my opinion anyways. You get to see Chloe and Milo fall for each other in all the fun. Especially in their late night escapades. Noah, Milo’s right hand man, soon becomes Chloe’s best friend, which is great because she really could use one after her disastrous school year. (Man, I wish I could have seen Chloe’s ex-BFF’s reaction once lockdown was over.) I thought it was hilarious how Aralie, Jules, and Tate kind of mirrored Chloe, Milo, and Noah. Aralie and Chloe even had difficulty figuring out who was with who.
Then there’s Emery! Oh my gosh! She was the super annoying little sister and yet the funniest one of all, right along with Benji, her favorite band member. (Poor Benji…) She was so hilarious and somehow she knew way too much for a girl her age. Sometimes, though she seriously got her facts wrong about a situation. (Milo and Chloe suffered greatly from that.) I still don’t fully understand what was up with Tate’s head on Chloe’s door though… I’m still wondering why that was going on.
Anyways I could say more, but it’d take the fun out of it. So if you’re looking for something fun to read, I’d highly suggest this. It was a FIVE star read, and one of my favorites for 2013. I definitely could not put this one down.
